Toph vs Zuko

Tis be the spawn of a conversation I had with SAB-CA on DeviantART. We demand a 2D Avatar fighting game! Because not everything has to be in photorealistic 3D this generation, we would love ourselves some Hi-Def 2D sprites, of Avatar, no less.

This is just a rough sketch…another addition to the backlog of other pieces I’m currently working on. I’ll be trying my hand at ’spriting’. Although, I must admit that I have absolutely zero experience regarding pixel art.

Master of Weapons

Seems like lately I’ve been drawing female characters with their backs facing the viewers…gonna keep working at this sketch, see if I can’t come up with something more interesting. And yes, that’s Fran from FFXII. I changed her clothes a bit, well actually more like added more clothing to her. Seriously, I wouldn’t call her original outfit armor with that much skin exposed.

Too Easy

Quick sketch I did today. Who’s it of, I wonder? Okay, fine, it’s Lightning from the upcoming Square-Enix game, Final Fantasy XIII. After seeing that trailer from the CLOUD DVD, which you can download at FXN, I was left ridiculously excited. My favourite scene was when she was surrounded by squads of opposing soldiers and she just stares at them for a few seconds before shooting off a cocky smile. It was brilliant, can’t wait for this game. Er, I’ll paint this eventually.

I think I’m getting better at drawing noses, hooray for drawing from observation!

Pepper Project sketches

Trying to think of some ideas for IF’s Pepper Project.

Dissatisfied

Friday, January 11th, 2008

Hmm…I’ve been feeling rather dissatisfied for some reason lately. No idea why though. Maybe I’m not being as productive as I would like to be. I haven’t been drawing in my sketchbook for sometime either, but I did manage to do so for the past 2 days, hopefully I’ll keep at it.

Maybe I should go out more often? Guess I’ll start playing basketball first thing monday morning.

Anyway, even with that feeling of dissatisfaction, there have been some interesting and really cool events that took place during the week. Work is going well, I need to pick up the pace though. I’ll also be working on a collaboration project sometime soon. And I’m also a mod at the FXN forums now!

Well, here’s a simple sketch for now.

Choices

I guess this kind of reflects my current situation, except in a more lighthearted way. I keep thinking about so much stuff lately I can’t even sleep that well anymore. Should I start doing commissions on dA? Will people even commission me? Aren’t I already busy enough as it is? But I need some form of income, don’t I? Is it a good idea to redesign the site? Shouldn’t I start exercising even?

Haha…yeah.

Sketches

Still haven’t received Photoshop, but hopefully it’ll arrive next week! Anyway, I haven’t been very productive this week, heh, this is about all I’ve got aside from work related art that I can’t show. It would appear that uploading through Wordpress somehow lowers the quality of the photo, but alas, I can’t do anything about it since I don’t have Photoshop.

And since I don’t have a lot of new artworks, here are some speed paintings of my friends that I finished a while ago.

In other new, my copy of Final Fantasy XII Greatest Hits arrived a couple of weeks ago from Play-asia.com. Been playing it ever since. I’ve missed this game so much.

Gesture Drawings 2

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

Mhm, I haven’t updated in a while, so here are 50 more gesture drawings! Done for something called the Spartan Camp over at the Conceptart.org forums. The idea is to basically work at 50 gestures, be it from imagination or observation, during the week. I think this should be some good practice for me. I’m also still waiting on Photoshop to arrive, so, sorry if you were expecting some digital art. These will have to do for now.

Gestures 1 through 18 were referenced from dancing zombies. Yes, don’t worry, you read that right. You can find their hilarious dance videos at their Zombies Website

Gestures 1-9

Gestures 10-18

The rest were referenced from photos I took as well as from images I found through Google.

Brainstorming session

Friday, December 7th, 2007

Been working mostly on art for Okashi, but managed to squeeze in a couple of sketches on ideas I’ve had during a break. I probably won’t work on these again for a while since I have only 1 day left on my CS3 trial, and I’ll be using the remaining of that day to finish up my work!
