Some New Supplies & Goodies

Art Supplies and Haruhi!

Heya! It’s been quite some time since I’ve posted anything on my blog and a lot of things have happened while I was inactive. Anyway, I went and spoiled myself a bit this weekend. No, I didn’t buy a new game, I thought I should get something more substantial with my pay and combat allowance (Got an additional hundred bucks in this month’s pay!). With that said, I bought some art supplies! Two watercolour pads, a set of Faber Castell watercolour pencils and three new brushes; unfortunately, I won’t be able to use them this week since I have to return to camp in a few minutes.

I’ve also been rather busy working on the new layout, as you can see from the above attempts. I’m still working on it, haven’t found anything satisfactory though.

Lara Croft Lara Croft 2 Lara Croft 3 Lara Croft 4 Lara Croft 5 Lara Croft 6
I did manage to attend X08 at the Marina Square Atrium this weekend. I wouldn’t really call it amazing, the majority of the games were multiplatform titles with only Gears of War and Fable 2 being the real kickers, I didn’t get to try those though since the lines were ridiculously long. Alisson Carroll, aka the new face of Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft was present and I managed to snap some shots of her. I originally intended to get Tomb Raider Anniversary so I could get it signed by her but alas, I do not have the funds to do so.

Anyway, hopefully I can post again next week if I’m not too lazy. See y’all then.

Utada’s Latest Album

Utada Hikaru\'s Heart Station

Hm, so after I dropped off my form for renewing my passport, I thought I’d just take a stroll to Suntec City. Went into HMV, but not before gawking at Sony’s new 11″ OEL TV. Now right next to it was Sony’s new 70″ Bravia X HDTV but I found it really amusing that everything looked amazingly better on the OEL TV. It was just sharper, there was far more detail and then there’s the insane million to one contrast ratio. Anyway, I digress. Picked up Utada Hikaru’s latest album, Heart Station, at HMV. She looks so different compared to when I first started listening to her music. I’m totally in love with the track Beautiful World.

Update: I just listened to Boku wa Kuma(I’m a Bear), and wow, that’s the cutest song I’ve heard from Hikaru, ever!

Anyway, here’s a facebook graffiti I drew for a friend (Lauren/Oathy from KHInsider.com). She played Selphie in episode 5 of Team Johnnycake’s Kingdom Hearts spoof. It was hilariously epic!

Blog gets Lightbox!

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

I was originally trying to implement Lightbox into my blog manually, but then it hit me, why not just find a plugin for Wordpress. And that’s precisely what I did. So now whatever images I post in Thumbnails should load using Lightbox. Hm, well at least the images in the latest posts, I’m far too lazy to go back and edit every other post I made since…whenever it was I started this blog, haha.

I’ve also added a couple of other plugins, including Facebook Comments, which imports comments from the notes that Facebook imports from here. I’m still experiencing some issues with the Author Comment Replies plugin I downloaded, so I’ll try to figure that out before activating it.

Oh, and I’ve upgraded Thumbnails to the latest version of Wordpress, huzzah!

New All-in-One Printer

Epson CX5500

Just picked up an Epson all-in-one printer today. I don’t know why my brother and I didn’t buy one in the first place. Guess we kind of forgot when we saw that Canon scanner…

Toph sketch

Anyway, enjoy the sketch of what will eventually be Toph Bei Fong from Avatar: The Last Airbender! This Epson scans a lot faster than the Canon and it makes a lot less noise too.

Dissatisfied

Friday, January 11th, 2008

Hmm…I’ve been feeling rather dissatisfied for some reason lately. No idea why though. Maybe I’m not being as productive as I would like to be. I haven’t been drawing in my sketchbook for sometime either, but I did manage to do so for the past 2 days, hopefully I’ll keep at it.

Maybe I should go out more often? Guess I’ll start playing basketball first thing monday morning.

Anyway, even with that feeling of dissatisfaction, there have been some interesting and really cool events that took place during the week. Work is going well, I need to pick up the pace though. I’ll also be working on a collaboration project sometime soon. And I’m also a mod at the FXN forums now!

Well, here’s a simple sketch for now.

Choices

I guess this kind of reflects my current situation, except in a more lighthearted way. I keep thinking about so much stuff lately I can’t even sleep that well anymore. Should I start doing commissions on dA? Will people even commission me? Aren’t I already busy enough as it is? But I need some form of income, don’t I? Is it a good idea to redesign the site? Shouldn’t I start exercising even?

Haha…yeah.

Raging Crow’s Flight Delayed.

Sunday, December 23rd, 2007

I’m Raging Crow, by the way, just a nickname thing going on between my brother, sister and me.

Anyway, so I finally get a letter from Singapore Post that I have a package waiting for me.

Inside that package? Adobe Photoshop Extended and a bunch of other goodies sent by my good friends in California, Okashi Studios.

Finally, right (I’m saying that in an excited way)? I was so excited. Open the letter…and I find out my package is being detained at Immigrations and Customs, which is a good hour away, maybe more, from where I live!!!

Bah, okay it’s not really the end of the world, just a big inconvenience. I wanted to go and get it today, but today’s Sunday, meaning ICA is closed. Hopefully they’re open tomorrow because I know, sure as heck, that they aren’t gonna be open on Tuesday. <_<

So yeah...I ordered something from my Cafepress store too...because they were gonna charge me a $5 service fee to send a cheque of $9 to me xD Might as well buy something eh? I just hope it doesn't get stopped at Customs again, and hopefully I won't have to pay duty/taxes either. It's being shipped by UPS, so maybe I won't experience the same inconvenience of living so far away from everything again. xD

PS.
I don't celebrate christmas. I'm Christian, christmas isn't. Don't say, 'You don't celebrate it? Gee that sucks' or wish me a merry christmas just for the heck of it either.

Thanks.

And since I'm bored, enjoy this random conversation I had with the guildies on Dofus.
