A work-in-progress.

So I’ve been in boot camp for almost 2 months now. It’s been a really interesting experience–and I’m pretty sure I can write about this, none of it is confidential information anyway. I mean, everyone knows a soldier will fire a rifle and throw a grenade some time during his service! Haha. I missed Company Best Shot by one shot. Missed my very last shot and it was quite frustrating to say the least. Grenade throwing was fun and very loud. Now I won’t be updating unartifex in a while since I’ll be confined for another weekend again for field camp, which lasts for about six days.

Anyway, I’ve made some designs for our company. I’m not sure if they’ll choose them, but whatever, it should be good for my portfolio. So here are the designs I came up with for the Company Shirt and Safety Posters. I really wanted to work on Ammo Safety, but we did a draw and my section ended up with Drinking & Driving instead. Sucks, but that’s life, can’t always get what you want.

Didn’t have much free time the last 2 weeks. Lots of exciting stuff going on in the army, too bad I can’t blog about it.

Can’t tell you about it! Haha, I’ll get in trouble since there’s a strict “no blogging” policy or some crap like that. I will say that it’s been both a fun and exhausting experience though. My bunk mates are friendly — a few of them are from overseas too — and so are the commanders and officers.

Anyway, I managed to squeeze in a portrait of Kristin Kreuk as Chun Li from the upcoming Street Fighter movie. As usual, I used a reference and still only noticed the glaring mistakes after I finished, check it out in the Bygones page.

And before I forget, here’s a quick sketch of Akemi.

Hm, to Photoshop…or to colour with markers? Guess I’ll go with the markers, I need the practice and I don’t want them drying out!

I felt an overwhelming sense of relief after drawing this…for some reason or another.

Anyway, 2 weeks left before I get shipped off! I only have to finish up that Metal Gear collab project with The Duo Group, checking through the pages for FinalFantasyXIII.net- -which reminds me, I still gotta do the CSS for the gallery pages- -coding up a layout for my buddy’s blog and…um…preordering Metal Gear Solid 4 from Play-Asia! Hm, wait a minute, that shouldn’t be on my top-priorities list.

I’m in love with Soul Eater! It’s far more amusing than Naruto, at least.
