Concentrations

Homeward Bound and The Capital

Mmm, I’ve decided to continue adding to the concentration pieces that I painted back in my senior year of high school. It should be good practice for me, but personally, I would rather be learning and practicing in school under good direction; however, since that’s not an option, this will do for now :) After all, I have a lot more free time than I previously thought I ever would.

Anyway, I’ve reorganized the Drawing and Illustration section and I’ve already added 2 more concentration pieces!

Screwed over…

I can’t believe it.

I got frickin screwed over by Singapore’s MINDEF. According to them, I am to “disregard the enlistment notice for December 13/2007″ and report for another, believe it or not, pre-enlistment medical check-up…in frickin January, meaning I have to extend my passport again, meaning I won’t be going back to Canada until 2010! What the frickin heck!? First I might have a heart problem, then I don’t have a heart problem, that was even confirmed when I went for another EKG test for a second opinion. Now I’m medically unfit again? Make up your bloody minds dammit!

Ugh, now I have to wait again, I probably won’t be enlisted until March/April. I’m thinking about taking the NAPFA test again, if I manage to pass that, then I can at least get 2 months off my service. I should probably find a job too. Seems to me that Singapore’s really good at screwing up people’s lives.

I guess that’s my rant for tonight, I’m still pretty mad, but I know this is God’s will so I pray that he gives me the faith to trust in him.

Uncharted

Muhaha, I picked up Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune for the Playstation 3 this afternoon. I’ve been waiting for this game since I saw it’s debut trailer, and with that, I’m off to play it!

Instant Noodles My dinner. 2 packs of Tom Yam flavoured instant nooodles, didn’t use the seasoning though, just mixed some soy, oyster and chicken rice chili sauce, delicious stuff. And because I couldn’t possibly get any lazier, I didn’t even cook this. I dumped the noodles into a bowl, poured some hot water in and covered it for a couple of minutes. Worked like a charm, in fact, the textures and taste of the noodles turned out better!

Avatar

Been watching Book 3 of Avatar, I can’t believe they don’t show this show in Singapore. It’s bloody epic. Anyway, I love Toph, she’s so sarcastic, she and Sokka are my favourite characters. So here’s a WIP of a fanart I’m working on.

So, I posted 3 days ago about my getting a new iMac. Well, since I got a new iMac, I had the urge to redesign my website and as you can see, I already have. Anyway, it’s a simple redesign of the previous layout. I’ve reorganized the galleries–which is now called the portfolio. I hadn’t coded anything in ages so I forgot how tedious it is to code an entire website from scratch. Now I remember, ugh, I spent about 3 days coding. I’m glad it’s finally over. Aside from that, I also finally got around to upgrading Wordpress to the latest version. YayOh and I almost forgot to mention, I’ve changed the blog’s name from Sketches to Thumbnails.

New iMac!

Thursday, November 8th, 2007

Huzzah! Got myself a brand new iMac, complete with the new OS X 10.5 Leopard. This is so much better compared to the Macbook, not only is the screen bigger, the colour and contrast is so much clearer, hha, my brother and I ended up watching Advent Children on it, just for the heck of it. That and I now have a mouse! A Mighty Mouse to be exact.

So yeah, pretty exciting day. I wanted to order it online, but the online store can’t process credit cards from other countries…in the end, went to town and bought it at retail. Not only that, I saved about $200 just from getting it at retail. Furthermore, when I go back to Canada, I can claim GST and get another $100 back. Now here’s some pictures of me opening it, there wasn’t really much to put together, just plugged the mouse into the keyboard, the keyboard into the iMac, the iMac into the power outlet. Quite simple.
