New Workshop Write-ups

September 27th, 2007 § 0

Haven’t updated in a while. I’m currently working on backgrounds for Okashi, as well as some personal art. I’ve already finished the comic strip I posted earlier and I’ll have that up soon.

Also, the Workshop section has been collecting dust as of late, so I’m going to write up some newer ones instead of just rewriting them. Here’s a photo for one of them. Don’t mind the funky looking mousepad, that belongs to my Aunt.

Work and Leisure

Well, since I’m pretty much waiting for enlistment indefinitely, and since I have a tablet and scanner, I’m back to working with Okashi Studios as a background artist on their game, Shira Oka: Second Chances! It’s great working with them, so I’m definitely really glad that I can do so again while I wait for enlistment.

So, aside from work, I also work on some personal drawings during the breaks I take from background stuff. Here’s the result of those breaks, I can only show these to you since I’m not allowed to show anything from work. I’ll give a full explanation about this comic strip I’m working on when I actually finish it, so for now, just enjoy it’s randomness.

Tablet, Scanner…and Warhawk!

September 2nd, 2007 § 3

I paid a visit to the Comex IT convention on Saturday. Wow it was really crowded, but I guess that’s expected from a convention such as this, at least it wasn’t an anime convention though, so nobody was dressed up as the prince from Katamari Damaci! Haha.

I went with my bro and we both knew what we were looking for so at least we didn’t wander around blindly. First off was the Sony Expo, asked the guides if they knew the release date for Warhawk in Singapore…nobody knew. After that, we headed off to the exhibition gallery, there was a ton of stuff there, but the first thing that caught our eyes was Apple’s booth. I got to fool around with the new iMac’s, wow they’re sexy. I’m thinking of getting one, after I find a job that is.

We walked around looking for Canon and Wacom. We found Canon quite easily, big gigantic logo hanging from the ceiling, who could miss that? But the scanners were rather expensive, so we continued on our quest for Wacom.

We couldn’t find them!!! We almost panicked, haha, good thing we went up to the next level and found yet another exhibition hall! After walking around the parameter of the booths–we didn’t want to walk between them since there was too many people–I finally spotted Wacom. So we picked up a Graphire 4. Our aunt was generous enough to get it for us even though my brother intended to pay for it.

Soon after we left, our aunt wanted to take us to a mall that apparently specializes in IT stuff. We got our scanner there, a Canoscan LiDE 25, just like the one we have back in Canada, except newer.

However, before that, I spotted a rather quaint looking game store…okay, so it wasn’t very quaint, but it got my attention nonetheless. I walked in looking for the Playstation 3 section, couldn’t find it, so I asked the cashier and he showed it to me. It seems that almost every game store I go to, the PS3 games are located in the glass display cases where the cash register is…anyway, I didn’t see Warhawk, but just as I was about to leave, my aunt exclaimed “Warhawk!” Heh, it was on display right NEXT to the cash register. So I finally got Warhawk and I’ve been playing it ever since. It is a very intense and fun game.

Here’s some pictures.
